Marine Dream

Gentle ocean colors, sparkling ripples of the surface and writing utensils as smooth as waves describe this month’s marine dream box.

The ocean is like the creative mind, an endless body of inspiration. Close your eyes and let yourself be consumed by the depths of blue hues and aquatic creatures. Resurface and create with the cool colors of the sea, decorate with your favorite crustaceans or leave a coral clad reminder.

Then dive back into the marine dream box for more inspiration!

These sticky notes are designed with cute illustrations by Yoshida Asano that look like pages from a picture book. They are made of tracing paper, so they are translucent and won't hide the areas you stick them on.

They can be used to mark or memo pages in your diary or notebook, and even make notes on maps! You will either receive “Polar Bear and Penguin’s Sherbert Land”  or “Journey to Whale Island”.

Create beautiful decorations with just one step! This sticker works similarly to a temporary tattoo.

[How to use]

Select the pattern you want to use, cut it out, remove the white sheet and place it where you want it. Carefully rub it from above with a ruler or something similar, and slowly peel off the transfer sheet to easily add the design.

The result is a natural finish that blends in with the paper. Use them in combination with multiple patterns to expand the ways to enjoy them.

"Coloring beautiful poetry" is the name of a project that turns poems written by Misuzu Kaneko, a children's song poet from the Taisho period (1912-1926), into designs. Misuzu Uta was inspired by the poems of Misuzu Kaneko’s poems and thanks to the foil stamping brand ROKKAKU this series became a reality!

The translated poem reads:
“At sunrise, glorious sunrise
it’s a big catch!
A big catch of sardines!
On the beach, it’s like a festival
but in the sea, they will hold funerals
for the tens of thousands dead.”

The barrel of the product is made of 100% recycled resin from marine plastic waste, made up of almost 100% post-consumer materials. It’s a ballpoint pen certified as a product specialized in combating marine plastic waste.

The color and the Möbius strip-esque clip were both chosen to evoke the ocean and the cyclical nature of the material. Inspect the barrel closely, and you’ll find itsy bits of other color microplastics.

This clear tape has a slim body, making it as easy to use for decoration as a tool for borders in a planner. All designs are great for subtle decorations or when you want to add a little extra glamour to your space. It’s made of PET material so you’ll need something to cut it with.

The hokkori series from Mindwave emphasizes warm and comfortable designs to put your mind at ease.

A popular drop sticker with a cool look made of puffy glitter material and silver foil.  The mix of glitter, foil and transparency creates incredible effects when placed, and the surface you add it to, or light that shines on them, dramatically changes their look!

It features playful dolphins, penguins and polar bears. Notice how each little sticker has several different foils!

How cool is this! A three-in-one dot marker that can easily travel with you, provide gorgeous deep sea tones and adjust its stroke to fit your needs, all in one. It’s designed to go with Midori’s “Commonplace book” system, but is great for anybody who loves to categorize by color.

By changing the angle of your stroke, you also change the thickness of the line. Pressing it directly down creates juicy dot marks.

You have to hold this washi tape roll to truly appreciate the detail of the design. Not only is the school of sardines masterfully printed to give the feeling of a sea current, the sparkle in the multilayered foil elevates the design to new heights.

The design is called aquarium, which is relatable if you’ve ever been to the Osaka Kayukan, walking through the tunnel with fishes swimming overhead, and dimmed lights, you can see why they chose it.

“Designed for comfortable writing” is the slogan for the Midori MD notebook. It is noticeable in every detail, like how the paper’s gentle tooth makes a light noise when written on, or the ability to open the book 180 degrees flat on any page.

This is the original MD notebook pre-2023 so it has a stronger paperback surface, along with the classic glassine paper to avoid dirt and aid in tracing.
